This dish which is full of nutrition’s as it contains potatoes, tomatoes, chickpeas, coriander, red and green chilies. Chickpeas are rich source of vitamins, minerals and fiber. It may offer a variety of health benefits, such as improving digestion, aiding weight management and reducing the risk of several diseases. Additionally, chickpeas are high in protein and make an excellent replacement for meat in vegetarian and vegan diets.

On the other hand, potatoes are rich in fiber, potassium, vitamin C, and vitamin B6 content, coupled with its lack of cholesterol, all support heart health. Potatoes contain significant amounts of fiber. Fiber helps lower the total amount of cholesterol in the blood, thereby decreasing the risk of heart disease

Aloo Chana Chat with Tamarind water Recipe

Ingredient

  • 2 Potatoes (cut into small cubes) 
  • 2 cup chickpea (Channay)
  • 1 tsp Chat masala
  • 1 bunch Coriander (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder
  • 2 Green chilies (chopped)
  • 1 tsp Lime juice
  • ½ bunch Mint leaves (chopped)
  • 1 Onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 tomato (finely chopped)
  • 1tbsp Red chili powder
  • Salt to taste

Ingredients for Tamarind water

  • 2 tbsp Tamarind (Imli)
  • ½ cup warm water

Method

  • Take a bowl and add the potato cubes (boiled and cut into small cubes) and chickpeas (soaked overnight and boiled).
  • Add onions, green chilies, red chili powder, chat masala, tomatoes, coriander, mint leaves, lime juice, salt and mix well.
  • Add in some freshly roasted cumin powder and mix well.
  • Garnish it with mint leaves, tomatoes, onions and chilies.
  • Serve fresh or chilled along with Tamarind water.

Method (Tamarind water)

  • In a deep bowl, add Tamarind in warm water and set it aside for 30 minutes.
  • Rub the Tamarind with the help of your fingers until all the pulp has been extracted.
  • Strain the mixture with a strainer in a bowl.
  • Serve as required.
