Confession of a Food Freak – ‘Wasabi’ Food Review

Sana Shakeel

Everyone is waiting for the quarantine to end. Corona Virus has managed to infiltrate our Pakistani borders over the last month and of course the number of people affected by it is growing day by day. To get a hold of the situation, the Pakistani government has taken several steps, including asking restaurants to stop the customers ‘dine-in option. The decision is right, and restaurants must take steps to ensure that their working conditions don’t affect the safety of their customers and employees.

Restaurants and third-party delivery providers takeaway and delivery choice are available so consumers can conveniently enjoy meal from their favorite restaurants from the comfort of their homes. In January of this year, me and my friends happened to visit the Wasabi Restaurant in Lahore. I was shocked to see the variety of food; they offer to their customers.

Lets quickly go to the review. I am excited to share my experience with you…

Wasabi restaurant is the first of its kind, house of top-quality, authentic Japanese cuisine. They plan to bring creativity and delicious food to your table with Japanese Cuisine being their specialty. Wasabi now opens its doors to the heart of Lahore, Gulberg, from being at the heart of DHA and receiving ever-growing love from their customers.

Service

The service is quite good. The servers take your order form your table. The same goes for billing. There are servers inside seating areas as well as in balcony. They were polite and efficient. I found them cleaning empty plates so there won’t be any delay in my sumptuous meal experience. They can help you in placing your order if you want to eat something new you can ask help.

Dining experience

I tried Banoffee pancakes and Shakshuka from the breakfast menu. They have separate menus for breakfast and main course items. ‘Banoffee Pancakes’ is my new love. They were soft and delicious. Pancakes were stacked with their toffee sauce and banana cream sauce. Topped with caramel crunch and chocolate bits. ‘Shakshuka’ is from their ‘Chef special’, it was minced chicken in tomato sauce. Topped with sunny side up eggs and hummus paprika rings. It was served with bread roll and potato wedges. I hadn’t tasted anything like that before but after eating, I love the taste. Every ingredient they use has its taste till the end as you can know from the aroma. It made for a heavenly delight.

Environment

The environment is quite relaxing as a combo of mild and energetic music refreshes your mood. The interior also reflects the Japanese culture. To enjoy the weather, they have a set up in balconies as well.
